How to run classic Windows Defender in a sandbox

Windows 10 supports the sandbox feature that helps you to run applications in their own environment apart from the operating system. However, users of this system were not able to run the Windows Defender this way. Now, you can open your Windows antivirus directly in a sandbox.

It helps you to run the virus scanning in the more secure environment protected from malware. As the result, you will find more threats and will be able to stop them easily. To get more information about that, you should read more about the sandbox feature.

To do it, open the Start menu and search for Command Prompt. When it is found, right click on it and select Run as administrator. After that, you just need to enter the following line.

setx /M MP_FORCE_USE_SANDBOX 1

Press enter and restart your PC, and then you can start running Windows Defender in a sandbox. This way of running an app is more secure than traditional. If you want to disable edited option, just do the same steps but enter 0 at the end of the line rather than 1.
